The more I blog and the more I build relationships with fellow bloggers, the more I want to make sure they know the real me. I want to make sure that the portrayal my blog gives of me, my life, is genuine. And we all know, life isn't always easy. As I continue to get more comfortable with you, I can feel myself getting more open. I'm no longer afraid to share my fears and my struggles with you and that's a special feeling!
In other news: I got bangs! I have been wanting them for over a year and I finally got the courage. I actually like them and plan to maintain them rather than the "ok I did it now I'm going to go through the awful growing out stages". I feel like they're "me." The real me. ;]

ReplyDeleteSo interesting! I, on the other hand, try to only let my blog reflect the POSITIVE parts of my life. It was one of my reasons for starting it, truthfully. I was moving across the country and anticipating some hardships, so I thought that a blog would be a good way to make me sit down and appreciate the good things that I had going on, since I'm someone who tends to focus on the negative.

Thanks for the input! While I definitely think my blog is a positive place, I also think that how one deals with their struggles can show even more of a person's true character. That is a side of myself I want to share with my readers occasionally.

ReplyDeleteI feel the exact same way. Although people usually only like to read the positives, it's nice to know that there's a human being behind it all. It's nice to not be so positive sometimes and show the more vulnerable side.
