Salty Chocolate Crisp Recipe

If you like the delicious combination of sweet and salty, you've got to try this recipe! By now you probably know that I like recipes with few, common ingredients. Well, I'd say the odds that you have all four ingredients to this recipe in your house are pretty good!
What you'll need:
Crackers (I used Saltines)
1 c butter
3/4 c brown sugar
1 pkg chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a lightly greased baking sheet with crackers. Boil the butter and sugar until well blended (about 3 minutes). Pour the mixture over the crackers, making sure they are evenly coated. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven. Pour the package of chocolate chips over the crackers and let stand for 1 minute. Using a spatula, spread the melted chips over the crackers. Put in fridge or freezer to chill. (I added a touch of red sprinkles in the Valentine's Day spirit.)

I have kept ours in the fridge and it has been pretty hard not to grab a piece every time I open the door! Enjoy!

  8. Saw the same recipe in an article about Trisha Yearwood. Her mom made the same and called them "Sweet and Saltines.". Super yummy, but they don't last long!
