Homemade Pita Chip Tutorial

When we had our housewarming party a friend of mine requested that my homemade guacamole be on the menu. (It's kind of famous.) We were already planning on a Mediterranean style menu so I wasn't sure about the guacamole. In the end, I ended up making it and serving it with homemade pita chips instead of tortilla chips.


Now, not only did I satisfy the first friend with the guacamole, but my other friend (who I learned reads my blog!!) requested I do a tutorial on the pita chips! She couldn't believe they were homemade. So, Katie, this is for you. :]

What you'll need:
1 Package of Pita bread
6 Tbsp Olive Oil
2 Garlic Cloves, minced
Salt
Pepper


Combine the olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper into a bowl and stir till well mixed.


Using kitchen shears, cut the pita bread into 8 triangular-shaped pieces. Brush the oil mixture on both sides of the pita chips. Arrange them on an ungreased cookie sheet.



Bake at 325 degrees for 12-15 minutes. They will turn golden brown and crisp!


It's a very easy recipe, that is just as good (and cheaper!) than a bag of pita chips from the store. You can even experiment with different toppings. I think I'm going to try parmesan cheese next time. Enjoy!

    I've been buying bagged pita chips from the store lately, but after making these I will never buy store bought chips again. These we so good. Who knew they were that easy to make?! Thanks so much for the post!
