Hey friends, how was your weekend? Mine was good, relaxing, just what I needed. I'm all caught up from my trip to Michigan. Of course, that's just in time for me to leave again Wednesday night. I am shooting a wedding with J for Etch in the San Francisco area on Friday, so we added a couple nights to our trip so we could visit our friends who live up there. We get back Sunday and basically next week will be a game of catch up again.
I'm ok with it. I do wonder, though, if there will be a time when I won't have to put orders "on hold" when I leave town. Maybe one day I will have some one I can trust to take care of processing orders while I'm away on some exotic vacation without a care in the world (See how I dream?).
Anyways, this weekend, ah yes. I made sure to get all my work done during the week so I could have a weekend off, for the most part. That's something I'm really making an effort to do these days.
We went to the beach, did some Penny walking, and of course, drank some homemade mojitos. I found this mason jar at the thrift store last week and obviously had to have it. It's the perfect to-go container for my nomnom mojitos.
What have you been up to? Have any fruity and/or alcoholic summer recipes to share with me? xo JA
Don't forget! Google Reader is peacin' out! Be sure to:

I've been trying to not work on the weekends too, though it's really hard for me. I've spent the last few years always working on the weekends to catch up on everything I couldn't get done during the week when I was teaching. I'll get there eventually! As for drinks, I've been making this one-- http://rowhouse14.blogspot.com/2013/06/iced-vodka-with-cucumber-lemon-and-mint.html
ReplyDeleteI'm a mojito lover as well, but I wanted to mix it up a bit. I also did pineapple juice, lime juice, rum, and club soda the other night and it was super refreshing!
Good to see that you're making time for yourself :) Always nice to have the weekends to enjoy for whatever you may want (I am terrible for wasting mine away doing nothing!). There were no fruit drinks this weekend, I'm not much a drinker really anyways, but I have been eating a lot of the lemon poppyseed bread I made on Saturday. It's almost half gone and I think I'm the only one eating it! :/
ReplyDeleteAnyways, enjoy your time in San Fran! Hope the weather is nice for you. You can take some of this icky heat from Alberta if you'd like, I don't want it! lol I am jealous of your going to the coast...I miss the ocean so much all the time!
i made mojito popsicles this weekend... basically made mojitos and poured them in to popsicle molds. best.ever.
ReplyDeleteI worked pretty much this entire past weekend... but I do make it a point to not work on weekends unless I have deadlines to meet. Easier said than done, but I try!
ReplyDeleteHaving an assistant would be awesome. I hired a virtual assistant while I was busy getting married, but wish I could afford one all the time. =D
Sounds like a super-fun weekend! Now I really want a mojito...
I was at an arts festival all weekend, which was lovely! Glad you got to have some relaxing time - that mason jug mug seems perfect, love that it has a lid and straw too.
