The past two months have not just been busy for JAA, but also for Etch Films! I would be lying if I said it was not stressful at all to shoot three weddings, three weekends in a row, during peek Valentine's Day season.
But at the same time I had to be happy at the growth we are seeing in this new business venture Jordan has created for us. If you're a new reader, we started out by filming our friend's wedding, which sparked enough interest (including interest in Australia!) to make Jordan think about pursuing it.
I know it's often said that couples shouldn't work together. It's definitely not always the easiest thing to do when we are dealing with the stress of the wedding day. But in general, I think J and I make a pretty good team!
On the morning before a wedding J is always running around making sure all the equipment is packed in the car. I probably bug him a time or two about eating something. I make sure we have granola bars and water bottles in our camera bags so that we are prepared for the long day ahead. We hop in the car, J drives, I navigate. This is when the butterflies set in.
When it's time to start shooting, I stick with the bride and J takes the groom. As soon as I start filming, the butterflies leave. There's work to do!
It's a really special thing to capture some one's wedding. It's such a happy day and you can't help but get wrapped up in the lovey dovey feelings. They even leave me feeling like I might want one for myself one day. ;]

ReplyDeleteoh man - every time I watch your wedding videos I wish I could get married to my husband all over again (and have you film it).
ReplyDeleteGreat job, please keep posting these :)
What a great video! I love when they really capture the spirit of the couple like this. Love!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the best wedding films I've watched ever. Seriously. It's so beautiful, but fun too, and something they'll treasure for ever ;) Oooh I'm getting all soppy! Eek!

ReplyDeleteYay!! I showed the Etch Films site to some fellow wedding pros on Friday night and they fell in love. :) You guys rock.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the video!
ReplyDeleteI have loved each of your/Etch's videos. They always give me goosebumps. The one you filmed in Australia made my mom tear up when I showed it to her. My fiance also loves you guys' work. He enjoys how things start off slower, more lovely, and gradually burst into the happy reception. I would be honored to have Etch film my wedding someday, if I were able to fly you out to Indianapolis. (Sorry it's not as exciting as Australia.) ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful video! Watching this kinda makes me wish my husband and I had gotten a wedding video (all we have is our first dance, which was recorded on a flip cam!)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, as always! It made me remember my big day. Thank you :)
