Australia: Day 1 + 2

The beginning of our trip started in Sydney. We stayed in an apartment that was walking distance to the harbor. So of course as soon as we got in we had to go exploring! It was around 8 a.m. at this point so the streets were pretty empty. Perfect for us, we had the whole place to ourselves!
We saw people doing the famous Bridge Climb where they walk up the entire height of the Sydney Harbor Bridge. I had multiple people ask me if I was going to do that. Yeah, no. That sounds completely unnecessary. :] But let me just throw in here that I did frickin awesome on the plane ride. Granted, I squeezed Jordan's hand at take off and was blaring Kelly Clarkson's "What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger" in my headphones.... but besides that, Jordan was impressed and I was proud.
I basically had a one track mind once we started walking towards the harbor. Opera house. Opera house. Opera house. Have to see it. Omg there it is! Let's go, let's go! I don't think it really sunk in when I was there. Like, there it was, this huge, iconic, amazing building that I've only seen in photos and movies. It never really hit me. I was just like, oh sweet, let's jump in photos now (it's sort of our standard shot).
On our 2nd day we did a Sydney Bike Tour with Belle and her husband Mike. The bride of the wedding we shot is Mike's sister, so it is thanks to them that this trip idea came about! Belle and I met through Etsy and have been talking by e-mail for about a year now. It was so special to finally meet her in person! They were both so welcoming and friendly. We had a great time kicking back, impersonating accents and drinking Bloody Marys (not really, they rarely have them in Australia!) I look forward to seeing them again. ;]
Our bike tour guide said that this was the "best view" in Sydney? What do you think?

Next up: Our last day in Sydney (it involves a boat!)

  1. That last one was from the Botanic Gardens, isn't down? With that rock and road named Macquarie or something? Wow. I SOOOooooo want to go back now! And a boat in Sydney? Did you guys do a tour of a habour? (I suppose I'll just have to see tomorrow...) Anyway, I hope you get over your jet lag soon! I had a hard time, too. I would go to bed at 4:00 or 4:30 in the morning. Yuck.

  6. I wouldn't know if it's the best view, but definitely the most iconic! Love how much fun you're having in your photos. I have almost no photos of us from our Europe trip. It is a really weird feeling to be somewhere you've always wanted to go. I remember a couple times in my head saying "I'm at the Cliffs of Moher" and it just never really sunk in. That shot of Jordan on the stairs is awesome btw!
