Australia Bound

Well friends, tomorrow is the day. I can't believe it's here already, I feel like I just shared how this trip came about! I have a ton of packing to do before our red-eye flight tomorrow evening. 15 hours. But I'm not focusing on that. I'm focusing on "Holy crap I'm going to be in Australia and seeing the amazing Opera House and quite possibly stealing a kangaroo to take home!!" This trip will add a check mark on my bucket list.

The only thing about this trip that has me feeling uneasy is our lack of phones and internet. Is that lame? Like, you're on vacation Julie. Take a break. While I fully intend to be in break-mode the entire time, I know it's going to feel weird. It's not "Oh I just can't put my phone down because I'm a work-aholic," it's just.....habit. I'm used to pulling up Google Maps on my phone to find out how to get some where. And we are road tripping up the coast of the country....we need maps. So this week I've been printing out maps and putting them in my "Australia folder." I picked up a travel book and map from Barnes and Noble as well. We're doing this "old school" (sorry Mom).

I bought a hard-cover journal so that I can document our trip daily (And keep better track of our adventures for my future blog posts). I plan to use my Instax Camera for the first time and use some pretty washi tape to secure the photos to my journal's pages! I'm excited, can you tell?

Anyways, the next week is going to be full of some really great guest posts. It's important to me to have quality, daily content and I'm very happy with the posts these girls came up with! Be sure to show them some love, they really helped me out! I will be back home April 2nd! See you then!

  5. Ok Im so jealous. Randomly I just took a look through my Australia photos today. I really want to go back and visit the bits I didnt get to see last time.
And wrt to the Opera House it looks better from a little way away so head to the botanical Gardens and walk around those and look at the opera house from across the little bay. Its lovely.

  6. Enjoy every minute! I'm betting it won't take long before you're not worried about your phone anymore. I rarely use my old cell phone, but I love every minute we're camping or away and I don't have my laptop. And good luck with your journal! (I failed miserably with my Europe one lol)

  7. I can't wait to hear about your trip! I went there a few years ago and absolutely loved it. The minute I stepped off the plane and into the Sydney airport, I could smell the city. Smell its pulse, its ocean air. It was beautiful, and I miss it. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time (and, yes, the long flight does kind of suck. However, it will be shorter coming back)!
